Supporting Mental Health and Community Wellness in Edmonton
Community mental health support continues to play an essential role in helping individuals and families feel seen, supported, and connected. During Mental Health Awareness Month, it is important to recognize not only the conversations surrounding mental health, but also the organizations, initiatives, and community members working every day to create meaningful change.
At Freedom Ford, supporting the community has always meant more than simply serving customers. Through local partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and community-driven campaigns, our team remains committed to helping organizations that provide healing, support, safe spaces, and hope for individuals and families across Edmonton and beyond.
As part of CanadaOne Cares Dealerships, Freedom Ford proudly supports charitable organizations and initiatives focused on mental health, wellness, trauma recovery, youth support, and community care. These partnerships reflect the belief that strong communities are built through compassion, empathy, and people coming together to support one another during difficult times.
Community Mental Health Support Through Local Partnerships
Community mental health support takes many forms. Sometimes it means funding counselling services and mental wellness programs. Other times it means helping create safe spaces, supporting vulnerable individuals, or simply ensuring people know they are not alone.
Freedom Ford is proud to support organizations that continue making a meaningful difference throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities.
Organizations such as the Canadian Mental Health Association continue to provide critical mental health education, advocacy, and accessible resources for Canadians. Community organizations like the YMCA also play an important role in creating welcoming environments where individuals and families can access wellness programs, support systems, and community connection.
Several CanadaOne dealerships have partnered with healthcare foundations and local mental wellness initiatives throughout Western Canada. Through the Thrive initiative connected to the General Hospital Foundation, support has helped strengthen mental health and wellness programming within local communities.
Freedom Ford and other CanadaOne Cares Dealerships have also proudly supported organizations including Little Warriors, Wings of Providence, and the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton, helping organizations that provide support, advocacy, healing resources, shelter, and care for vulnerable individuals and families.
Freedom Ford, alongside Waterloo Ford, Waterloo Lincoln, and CanadaOne Auto, was proud to serve as a Presenting Sponsor of the 2025 WINGMAN Campaign in support of Wings of Providence. The campaign raised an incredible $72,825 to help provide safe shelter, counselling, housing, childcare, and healing programs for women and children fleeing violence while also helping raise awareness and encourage important conversations within the community.
CanadaOne Auto Dealerships also helped raise $85,000 in support of the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton, helping provide survivors with access to critical support services and specialized care.
Freedom Ford is also proud to participate in the Take Action campaign supporting the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton. Through teddy bear sales across participating dealerships, customers and team members are helping raise funds for survivors in need of specialized counselling and trauma support services. Click the link here to donate a teddy bear to a survivor at SACE. Your $50 donation helps provide comfort, care, and support to a child in need while also including a charitable tax receipt.
Community support also extends into broader wellness and inclusion initiatives. Motionball continues to inspire communities across Canada through fundraising and events that promote inclusion and support for Special Olympics athletes, while organizations like The 705 provide compassionate mental health and addiction recovery support for individuals and families facing difficult challenges.
Mental Health Awareness Month Is About Supporting One Another
Mental Health Awareness Month is about more than awareness alone. It is about continuing conversations, reducing stigma, encouraging compassion, and reminding people that support exists within their communities.
Every fundraiser, partnership, volunteer initiative, and charitable contribution represents people choosing to care for one another. It reflects the belief that healing and hope become stronger when communities come together with empathy and understanding.
That is what community mental health support is truly about.
Freedom Ford’s Commitment to Community Support
At Freedom Ford, supporting the community goes far beyond the dealership itself. Whether through fundraising campaigns, mental health initiatives, local partnerships, or charitable giving, our team remains committed to helping build stronger and more connected communities throughout Edmonton.
As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, we encourage everyone to check in on one another, support local organizations making a difference, and continue conversations surrounding mental health with compassion and care.
